Guru : Shri Krishna Dayal Shrivastava

Shri Krishna Dayal Shrivastava was born in 23rd October 1923 at Kanpur. His deciples are performing as well teaching Kathak in various the parts of the world.


Some of his achievements are as under:

• He retired as vice principal of the college from Gandhi Sangeet Maha Vidhayalaya, Kanpur.
  
• He has done alankar in Vocal Music from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mandal, Miraj.
  
• He has been honoured with tile Nirtriya Shiromani from Bharatiya Sangeet and Lalit Kala Vidhaya Peeth.
  
• He has been given hon. degree of Kalamani from Natraj Organization Mumbai.
  
• He was honored from akhil bharatiya Gandharva Mandal for his outstanding contribution in the field of Kathak Dance.
  
• His Guru is Thakur Bala Singh of Jaipur and Dr. Lal Mani Mishra from Banaras Gharana.

He was born on 20th Sept. 1954. He is a professional Kathak performer and guru.Born in a family of hereditary dancers.

Sri Mishra received the rigorous training from his father since his childhood and started performing at the tender age of 8 years along with his father. On account of sudden demise of his father in 1970. When he was barely 16 years old. Sri Mishra had to suffer a jolt . But, with a fresh determination, he joined two most reputed institutions e.g. Sri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra and Kathak Kendra , New Delhi to specialize his dance education under the world renowned Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj ji. Due to immature death of his father Sri Mishra and family had to face financial crisis. which he made over by playing instruments like Tabla ,Pakhawaj, Drums, Dholak, and many other ones in various musical and cultural programmes . As a result Sri Mishra steered himself as a most efficient dancer as well as gathered successful control on playing different musical instruments. Kathak Kendra and Ministry of culture, Govt. of India offered him scholarship for his outstanding ability in dance . Presently he is the senior Kathak guru of National Institute Kathak Kendra , New Delhi. He has prepared quite a good number of his students as one of the most successful kathak dancers at National and International levels.
