About her:As a disciple Upasana Tiwari gave her first dance performance at a tender age of 5.She then commenced her kathak dance training at the age of 10 under Guru Shri Krishna Dayal Shirvastva.After few years of rigorous training she started giving stage performances which were widely appreciated and acclaimed. She has done her Alankar from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mandal,Mumbai .She gives all the credit to her Guru for nurturing her dream of being a dancer .She considers him to be a teacher par excellence who continuosly challenged her abilities as a dance which made her making her work harder and grow as dancer. At present she is a diciple of Pandit Krishna Mohan Maharaj Ji. Son of Padmshri Shambhu Maharaj Ji The legend of Kathak Dance Form. She considers Her Guru to be an ambassador of Indian classical dance and culture. Recently with the grace of Guru Dev Sri Sri Ravi Shanker Ji Founder of Art Of Living. She has been Trained as a teacher of Sri Sri Natya. A beautiful inarched course of Dance, Music, Asanas and Meditation. Designed by Guru Dev himself in order to spread inner joy and spiritualism through dance among the people. As a performer Upasana Tiwari is an outstanding dancer ‘par excellence’. She is a living legend who has presents kathak at its best by bestowing it with dignity and enriching it with a deeper and wider canvas of expression and dimensions. She combines artistry with keen observation and humanism. She portrays the diverse Indian Traditional rituals and aesthetic of Indian culture through her performances. With the clever use of her vivid imagination, deep knowledge of rhythm and beats she has given virtuous dances performances which have mesmerized audiences all over the world in several prestigious national and international festivals, she has been conferred with numerous awards. Her Contributions In The Field Of Dance She started her teaching career as Dance Director at Mussoorie International School, Mussoorie. Upasana Tiwari portrays the diverse Indian Traditional rituals and aesthetic of Indian culture through her performances. She is committed towards developing Indian Dance. She believes that dance is one of the many advance forms of universal communication. She has realized the need to develop the dance form further in order to make it easily accessible to the world, at large. UpasanaTiwari is an example of a true Kathak dancer, multi-faceted and dynamic; she presents a challenge to today’s spectator. Her life and her works have made her a role model and peer for hundreds and thousands of girls of the younger generation of today. She directed History of Indian classical dance “Ghughuroon ka Safar” at Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha. She has directed dance drama based on “Nav Ras Bhave Tarang” in the banner of Hitwada News Paper. She directed History of Indian Cinema “Ghughuroon ka safar 100 years of Indian Cinema” performed at Bhilai and organized by Hitwada News Paper. She directed the dance drama “Bhakti” at Rajim Kumbh Mahostava hosted by Chattisgarh Govt. She is directing the classical and semi classical dance programme named “Nrityanjali” every year since 20 years. Her students were meritorious in the Dubai and Singapore International Culture Olympiad. At Present she is running Kathak Institute named Krishnapriya Kathak Kendra at Durg and Bhilai (Chhattisgarh State) where students obtain diploma/Degree in Kathak from Indra Kala Sangeet Vishwavidhalaya the “A” grade University of Chatttisgarh State of India.
